A HEALTHY WAY
A healthy active body leads to a healthy active mind. Our school is the first primary school in Victoria to gain a “Kid’s-Go For Your Life” award. Students tap into water every day, brain food is munched and crunched, ride and stride is promoted. There are active sports program for all our movers and shakers and our magnificent canteen showcases every day food. This is just to name a few activities. |

AN ENVIRONMENTALLY RICH WAY
Our students are involved in planning and preparation of the garden areas, seeding and propagation of vegetables leads on to planting and harvesting. After harvesting, the produce is used for food preparation. The children learn about different food selection models and reflect on how these can be used to assist in food choices.
AN INFORMATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL WAY
Smart boards (Interactive digital white boards) and trolleys full of lap tops are used hourly by our students as they work, rest and play. Our digital learning environment motivates, stimulates and is only limited by the users imagination.
STUDENT LEARNING SPACES - OUR WAY
We have increased the learning space for our senior students (Grade 5/6) by reclaiming the corridors and adding doors that lead directly to our play grounds. In our wireless digital environment our seniors can now learn everywhere, every time! |

AN ENJOYABLE WAY TO LEARN
Our preps, the smallest and most active learners, are enjoying Developmental Curriculum, which involves the students developing their numeracy, literacy and social skills through activities that they themselves create. Grade 2/3 students have comfy couches in their rooms to give them an extra opportunity to ENJOY books.
A WAY OF THINKING. LEARNING IN ACTION? NOW THAT'S THE WAY!
We aim to make our students literate, numerate curious and articulate. We want them to take an active role in shaping their own future. Our students not only need to acquire knowledge but also to act on this knowledge in a socially responsible way. The personalisation of learning for every student and the delivery of Inquiry units of work have enabled learning to be non stop action for everyone. |

STUDENT LEADERSHIP LEADS OUR WAY
Each year the senior students elect school and house captains. These student leaders organise many school events and on several occasions during the year represent our school in our community.
OUR COMMUNITY SUPPORTS OUR WAY
Parents and community members are very welcome to come into our school and to join our learning team. Play group, craft afternoons, sport days and assemblies enable parents to meet each other and to celebrate the achievements of their children.
Our before and after school care program enables our school to support parents who work or require child free time after school. THE CORIO WEST WAY! |

Symbols and messages that make us, “Team Corio West”.
Positive environment
Every one who steps inside our school will experience a positive feeling. We all have shiny bits that we can build upon and celebrate. We also have dull bits, that we can identify and continually polish.

Putting our learning into action
We tell a story about a little frog who sat on a log continually talking about jumping off a log, but never got around to actually jumping. He just sits and talks about what he could do.
We want to be a school full of wet frogs. A place where we use our learning in an active way .

Let’s put a stop to classroom bullying.
Is your class being bullied? Is a friend in your classroom taking away your learning time?
Stand up to the bullies. Call them on their poor behaviour. Stop the rot!
Our Learning Journey
